Martina Eisenreich was born in Erding in 1981. She began accordion lessons in 1984 and received her first lessons in folk music. In the course of her musical education, she learned the violin, piano, organ, jazz trumpet, saxophone and drums. She played in various orchestras and ensembles and undertook her first concert tours. From 1993, she devoted herself to studying composition, counterpoint and harmony. She performed her own compositions for the first time and developed her own concert programs and albums. She took part in Camerett, the oldest school cabaret in Bavaria. From 1996 to 2000, she studied classical composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich under the direction of Prof. Dr. h.c. Dieter Acker. In 2000, she graduated from the Camerloher Gymnasium in Freising and began to set up her own recording studio. During this time, she created her first works for film, television, theater and radio. From 2001, she performed as a composer, multi-instrumentalist and violinist with her own projects and undertook numerous concert tours. From 2001 to 2004, she studied composition for film and television at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Prof. Dr. Enjott Schneider. From 2002, she was commissioned to compose works for various theaters, including “Blind Date” at Schauspielhaus Graz and “Berlin Alexanderplatz” at Theater Aachen. In 2003 she founded the trio Lauschgold, consisting of Wolfgang Lohmeier (drums and percussion) and Evelyn Huber (harp). From 2004, she developed duo programs with the accordionist Andreas Hinterseher from Quadro Nuevo. Since 2005, she has also composed for orchestras and internationally renowned productions, including with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg and the Munich Radio Orchestra. From 2004 to 2007, she completed postgraduate studies and received a diploma in film music and sound design at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg. During this time, she released her first albums with GLM Music and was involved in the feature film “Reine Geschmacksache”. Since 2009 she has been teaching film music and sound design at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). In 2010, she founded the Martina Eisenreich Quartet with Wolfgang Lohmeier (drums), Stephan Glaubitz (double bass) and Christoph Müller-Bombart (guitar). The quartet has performed in numerous European countries. In 2016, she focused on conducting her own works and took lessons with David Newman, Conrad Pope and Angel Velez in Los Angeles. In 2017, she conducted the world premiere of her orchestral work “Song of the Wind” at the Rousse State Opera. She began a close collaboration with film director Pia Strietmann and film and opera director Axel Ranisch. In this context, she composed a symphony for the crime scene “Waldlust” commissioned by Südwestrundfunk. In 2019, the world premiere of her orchestral commission “Tales of Rhythm” for the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie took place in Herford on the occasion of Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday.
