When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected by means of a cookie. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and the like. None of this information allows conclusions to be drawn about you personally.
This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the content of websites requested by you, and is mandatory when using the Internet. The information is processed in particular to

  • establish a connection to the website without difficulty,
  • ensure unobstructed use of our website,
  • evaluate system security and stability, and

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use what are known as “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a web server to your hard drive. As a result, we automatically receive certain data such as the IP address, browser being used, operating system and your connection to the Internet.
Cookies cannot be used to start programs or to transmit viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies allows us to facilitate your navigation and enable the correct display of our websites. Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.
Of course, you can also view our website without cookies in principle. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time in your browser settings. Use the help functions of your Internet browser to learn how to change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

SSL encryption
We use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) over HTTPS to protect the security of your data during transmission.

Newsletter
On the basis of your explicit consent, we will regularly send you our newsletter or similar information by e-mail to your specified e-mail address. You must provide your e-mail address to receive the newsletter. When registering to receive our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers can also be informed about circumstances by e-mail that are relevant for the service or registration (e.g. changes in the newsletter offer or technical circumstances).
We need a valid e-mail address to effect registration. To verify that a registration request is actually submitted by the owner of an e-mail address, we employ the double opt-in procedure. For this purpose, we record the newsletter request, the sending of a confirmation e-mail and the receipt of the response requested herewith. No further data are collected. The data will be used exclusively for sending the
newsletter, and will not be passed on to third parties. You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and use for sending
the newsletter at any time. A corresponding link is provided in each newsletter. You can also unsubscribe at any time directly from this website or let us know of your request via the contact option provided at the end of this data privacy notice.

If you contact us with any questions by e-mail or using the contact form, you give us your voluntary consent for the purpose of establishing contacting. This requires a valid e-mail address. It is used to assign the request and then to answer it. The disclosure of further data is optional. The information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing the request as well as for possible follow-up questions. After your request has been completed, the personal data will be erased automatically.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses what are known as cookies – text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide the website operator with other services related to website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data by Google.

The purposes of data processing are to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on activities on the website. Other related services will then be provided on the basis of the use of the website and the Internet. Processing is based on the legitimate interest of the website operator. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; however, please note that you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent in this case. You can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: Browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.
In addition to or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics on our website by clicking this link. An opt-out cookie is then installed on your device. This will prevent data collection by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser in the future, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

Use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)

In order to present our content correctly and make it graphically appealing across all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Webfonts are transferred to your browser cache to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Webfonts or prevents access, content is displayed in a standard font. Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. In this context, it is theoretically possible – but currently also unclear whether and if applicable for what purposes – for operators of corresponding libraries to collect data.
The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube will be informed which pages you visit. If you are logged on to your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.
If you have disabled the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you do not need to expect such cookies when watching YouTube videos. YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in the browser.

Further information on data protection by YouTube can be found in the provider’s data
privacy statement at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Social plugins

We offer you the possibility of using what are known as social media buttons on our website. We rely on the “Shariff” solution during implementation in order too protect your data. As a result, these buttons on the website are incorporated only as a graphic that contains a link to the corresponding website of the button provider. By clicking on the graphic, you will be redirected to the services of the respective providers. Only then will your data be sent to the respective providers. Unless you click on the graphic, there is no exchange between you and the providers of the social media buttons. For information on how your data is collected and used on social networks, please refer to the respective terms and conditions of use of the respective providers. More information on the Shariff solution can be found here: http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html We have integrated the social media buttons of the following companies on our website: Facebook, Instagram.

Google AdWords

Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you have reached our website via an advertisement placed by Google, Google AdWords will set a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an ad placed by Google. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was forwarded to this page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected with the help of the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers will know the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can refuse the required cookie – for example in your browser settings, which generally deactivates the automatic storage of cookies or configures your browser so that cookies from the domain “googleleadservices.com” are blocked.
Please note that you must not delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not wish performance data to be recorded. If you have deleted all your cookies in the browser, you must set the respective opt-out cookie again.

Changes to our data privacy statement

We reserve the right to adapt this data privacy statement so that it always meets the current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the data privacy statement, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data privacy statement will then apply to your subsequent visits.
